Lowering Stress At Work

Lowering Stress At Work

Whether you’re a doctor, a cashier or you work from home, you know that stress is a normal part of your day. You never know when your supervisor will ask you to work late, a client will have a problem with the work you did or you have to deal with an annoying coworker. Never let stress ruin your day. Regardless of where you work, you can low the amount of stress you experience on the job.

Get Some Exercise
There is a clear link between exercise and stress. Working out takes your mind off stressful situations and releases endorphins that can improve your mood. Though you might think that you can’t possibly exercise at work, there are things you can do that don’t take a lot of time. Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs. Instead of parking right in front of your office, park down the street or on another block. Even walking through the neighborhood on your lunch break can get your body moving and your heart pumping.

Organize Your Desk
When you’re under a lot of stress, even the smallest thing can set you off. After a rough meeting, you might feel worse when you come back and see paperwork and other things cluttering your desk. Take a few simple minutes to clean off your desk. Put away the paperwork you won’t need until later in the week, clean your computer mouse and phone and organize your drawers.

Relax Your Mind
Meditation is one of the best ways to relax your mind and beat stress at work. If deep breathing and clearing your mind doesn’t work for you, try some other simple things during your breaks. Listen to music, watch a few scenes from your favorite movie or watch funny clips online while wearing headphones. You can even kick back on your break with a good book. Relaxing your mind, organizing your desk and getting some exercise can help you battle stress at work.
