You want to get in shape and exercise more, but who has time for all that? If you’re like most people, you probably hate the idea of getting up first thing in the morning to workout and you don’t have time to hit the gym after work. No matter how busy your schedule is, you can still find a way to incorporate exercise into your daily life.
Take Commercial Breaks
Do you relax and unwind at the end of the night while sitting on your couch in front of the television? The next time you find yourself in that position, put down the snacks. Instead of using your DVR to skip through the commercials, use those commercials as an excuse to exercise. Do bicep curls, lunges, squats and other simple motions during each break. Do as many repetitions of one move as you can during that break and then switch to a different move during the next break.
Walking is one of the best exercises around. It’s a low-impact activity that you can do when just starting out. Incorporate walking slowly into your daily routine. Park as far away from the door to your office as you can each day, and park in the back row at the grocery store too. Instead of hopping in your car to drive from one end of a strip mall to the other or from one block to the next, park your car and walk to each location.
Workout at Work
If you really need to squeeze in some exercise, try working out at work. Walk up and down the stairs as many times as you can during a break, or try doing some simple stretches and yoga poses at your desk. You can even take the time to walk around the parking lot of your workplace a few times before hopping in your car to head home. Even if you think you don’t have time to workout, this ideas just might make you change your mind.
