Have Fun with Scenic Day Hikes in Los Angeles
Many people know Griffith Park for its amazing observatory, which served as a setting in famous films like Rebel Without a Cause. The park also boasts a number of other things for locals to do, including a series of trails located along the southwestern edge of the park. This small trail is only a little under a mile long, but it’s the perfect trail for those who want to see sites used on television and in film. Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Batman and Star Trek are just a few of the productions that shot there over the years.
Far too many locals live in and around Los Angeles and never take the time to visit the famous Hollywood sign. When you take a walk through the Hollywood Hills, you can get up close to that sign. The trails running through the hills let you customize your hike based on your fitness level and the time you have available. You can spend three hours or more walking from the base of the hills to the top of the hills, or you can spend an hour or less walking along the trails to reach the sign before heading back down.
While you might not see Hollywood on display when hiking through Runyon Canyon, you might just see a few celebrities hiking and running along the same trails. These trails are perfect for beginners but also offer some obstacles for experienced hikers. The views of the city from the top of the canyon are something you won’t want to miss. Runyon Canyon is one of the few hiking spots in the city where you can take your dog too.
Los Angeles offers a number of amazing scenic trails, but many find that these trails are among the best.
